Funny how the most egregious examples of government "waste" always involve money given to private companies.
There are those who see government as the problem and there are those who see big-money or big-corporations as the problem but in reality it's the intersection of government and business, coupled with man's natural greed and a lust for power, that's created our current environment of corruption and waste. Government should be the buffer that protects the common man from the rich and powerful, whether individual robber-barons or multi-national corporations. It should not be a weapon wielded by the rich and powerful to enrich themselves.
