State of America

This post is a little over-the-top but I think this paragraph is good.

If You Haven’t Panicked Yet About Syria, A Few Of The Many Reasons You Should ! | MyFDL:
"if you are an American, the country you are living in spends as much as the entire planet combined on it’s military and has it’s entire population under surveillance. Your government is controlled entirely by corporate money. More than nine out of every ten elections are decided by which candidate has the most corporate money, which means unequivocally that as a point of fact the US in no longer either a functioning democracy or a representative government where it’s citizens can reasonably expect to affect the outcome through participation. The nation’s government assassinates it’s own people in secret without any due process and claims the right to arrest and hold those people or anyone else indefinitely without ever charging them. It is currently operating military operations in at least seventy four other countries, often without those nations blessings."

Also,..  Tea Bagger/wingnuts, .. Obama did not cause this or even really increase it. He's just kept it on course. And Lefties,.. this is not all Bush/Cheney/Reagan's fault. It has been decades in the making with both parties and several presidents playing major roles.

One thing I notice among the people I know, who are mostly conservative, central-Indiana, rural types. The leftish, hippie, anti-war, dope smoking, Obama supporters (or now mostly former Obama supporters) tend realize that Obama has failed to live up to their expectations of a liberal, left-leaning president. However, the Gun-nut, Tea-bagger, evangelical, Amurica-is-always-great types think Bush-Cheney were doing it ALL right and that it's all Obama-the-Socialist's fault.  I guess this is the Fox, Not-Really-The-News, effect.

Note that you can't just blame the wingnuts for being partisan. Ten years ago the lefties thought Clinton, Rubin, and Greenspan were doing it right and Bush and Cheney were screwing up when in reality we were on the same economic path. Bush-Cheney just had larger middle-eastern countries in our sights.

Anyway, I think it shows that the American Government is more like a large corporate-cash-filled boulder crashing down a hill, there's very little the presidency or even a couple of elections, can do to change it's direction. Eventually we'll hit bottom and the whole world will hate us for bringing them our freedoms.
