The Logic Behind Assad’s Use of Chemical Weapons | Political Violence @ a Glance:
Assad ordered the gas attack to "eliminate any uncertainty about US intentions? I think that's a stretch. Hell, it's not been shown that Assad ordered or that Syrian forces were even responsible for the attack. It could have been a rogue Syrian unit, a rebel group or a group supporting the rebels. We don't know.
It does seem very likely that this post is a propaganda piece to give some cover to the non-answer of the question of "Why would Assad use Chemical weapons when he knew it would cross Obama's red line drawing the US in and make him an international outlaw at a point when his forces were clearly not losing and probably winning the struggle. It just doesn't make any sense. He had the most to lose from a chemical weapons attack. I can't believe any leader with that knowledge would be stupid enough to use them. The convoluted eleven-dimensional chess move noted above just doesn't seem plausible.
So what happens if it turns out that the CIA or Mossad put the chemical-carrying rockets in the hands of the rebels as a false flag? Will we have to bomb ourselves? Bomb Israel?
