Some good points [here] but a little harsh. Not all cops are dicks.
Based on my unscientific life-time poll/run-ins-with-cops, I'd say about 60% are just natural dicks. They like pushing people around, so they do. They want to show how tough they are. How much power they have. They're just natural born dicks.
Another 30% are generally OK people but made dicks by the job. They work in a tough environment. Lots of rules, crazy people, crazy situations. To deal with that all day would make most of us dicks.
That leaves about 10% who are decent people just trying to do their job.
So not all cops are dicks but if you had to bet where would you put your money? A Dick? or Not a dick?
