The Russian did it ??

“Basically, Russia loaded the gun. The Trump team fired.”

I'm not sure I believe this. Here's my theory

This was our first Internet/social media election and like the first real TV election of the 60's, we as a nation didn't fully understand the ability of this new media to disrupt our election process.

Nobody knew how powerful it was, but the right was way ahead of the left on the kind of viral, fake outrage, scare-the-hell-out-of-the-people stuff that seems to work well on social media.

Fox Propaganda, Talk radio, and Drudge had used the Obama years to perfect it. All they had to do was move it to the Internet. Every day they'd roll out the outrage-of-the-day through their normal channels and just let the people pass it around.

The Trump group, the R's, and maybe even Russia played a part but the real power was because the message had the full support of the normal R groups, now armed with social media.

The gun nuts, the American Association of old Drunk uncles, Ex-High School Football Players Anonymous, White Bible Babes of Laundromats Everywhere, and the Bible-Bangers of the Rust Belt, they spread the word.

And, that word wasn't so much pro-Trump as it was Anti-Hillary. 

Just like TV made Nixon look nervous and uncomfortable swaying votes. Right-wing propaganda amplified through the Internet and social media made Hillary look like a super villain (also, i guess we had been Hillary's crimes for 25 years so there was a lot already out the)

By election time, only the most die-hard D's could stomach voting for her.

I still believe Trump ran just for the promotional aspect and didn't expect to win but compared to the Hillary everyone had heard about, well, it's not an easy choice so, we have the orange-dumpster fire.

The power of targeted propaganda, spread by the Internet fooled us all.
