Drone attack on US base in southern Syria
“We maintain the inherent right of self-defense and will respond at a time and place of our choosing,” Capt. Bill Urban, spokesman for Central Command, said in a statement, without assigning the blame to any party. The US garrison is located in a strategic area near Syria’s border crossing with Iraq and Jordan.
It's hard to see how "the inherent right of self-defense" can be applied when the US base is in a country on the other side of the planet. A country that really does not want us there.
The US base feels a lot like the British Red-Coats of the American Revolution.
