12 times law enforcement misrepresented key details of the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde
Some of these are nitpicking as they were early reporting on a chaotic, developing situation, some are clearly cops trying to cover for themselves and others.
Still, the issue is that cops are generally not held responsible for their actions.
If they will lie to cover in a situation that they know is going to be investigated,like this, think what they could do in a simple arrest where there is only the cop and the victim.
Local governments need to take control.
If cops lie, fire them.
If they are inept, fire them.
If they beat up or kill unnecessarily, prosecute them.
If they are doing a good job, pay and promote them.
but overall ... get control.
