The first step in protecting yourself against pseudoscience is recognizing its characteristics (Trecek-King 2021). But the best way to protect yourself against the hucksters—some of them con artists, others deluded true believers—and their snake oil is to learn the techniques they use to sell it. So, let’s have a bit of fun and pretend to be grifters selling bunk.
