Kidnapped Israeli

More info is coming out about the Russian-Israeli woman kidnapped in Iraq.

There were rumors that she was a Mossad agent.

I don't know why,  a Russian-Israeli from the US entering Iraq illegally, using her Russian passport? Couldn't possibly be Mossad.

but there is this,  Assassination of Mahmoud Al-Mabhouh

His assassination attracted international attention in part due to allegations that it was ordered by the Israeli government and carried out by Mossad agents holding fake or fraudulently obtained passports from several European countries and Australia.

The photographs of the 26 suspects and their aliases were subsequently placed on Interpol's most-wanted list. The Dubai police found that 12 of the suspects used British passports, along with six Irish, four French, one German, and three Australian passports.[2][3][4][5][6] Interpol and the Dubai police believed that the suspects stole the identities of real people, mostly Israeli dual citizens.[2][7]
Now there is this on the kidnapping from Haaretz, Israeli-Russian researcher missing in Iraq was repeatedly warned of dangers – report .

Tsurkov was visiting Iraq for research work on Iran-backed factions in the country, particularly the movement of Iraqi Shiite leader Moqtada Sadr.

and

Tsurkov, who has served in the Israel Defense Forces and speaks English, Hebrew, Russian and Arabic, has two degrees in international relations and Middle East studies from Hebrew University and Tel Aviv University, and is a fellow at the American News Lines Institute think tank and the Jerusalem-based Israeli-Palestinian Forum for Regional Thinking.

and

She had also worked years ago for former Israeli cabinet minister Natan Sharansky, the official said on Wednesday.
Also this from the Times of Israel
“Liz is very much a part of America. She works with a Washington think tank, writes for an American magazine and studies at Princeton University. She deserves America’s every effort to bring her to safety,” New Lines said on Wednesday.
and, back to the Haaretz article.

“She is absolutely not a member of the Mossad, period, exclamation, underline,” the official said.

Also odd is that Haaretz and The Times of Israel have multiple top-of-the-page stories about the abduction while the Jerusalem Post has only one story buried down the page. Seems odd.

Anyway, she may not be a Mossad agent but if you had to bet, which side would you put your money on?
