Israel-Saudi Peace Deal: What The F… Is in It for the US?
What does the U.S. get from giving a strong security guarantee to a country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, that is now largely hostile to the U.S. on behalf of another country, Israel, that is increasingly annoying and meddlesome at best?
Most in the US would say cheap oil but my guess is that the only thing the Democrats want is that neither of these countries interfere in the 2024 election.
The Saudis have raised oil prices to hurt the Biden Administration in the past and Netanyahu has already interfered in the 2020 election, siding with Trump and the Republicans/evangelicals, and would do it again in a heartbeat if he thinks it's a way he can hold on to power.
Fuck Netanyahu and the Saudis. Keep our tax dollars at home.
