US bombs target ISIL in Nigeria: What’s really going on?
Fear and confusion in Nigerian village hit in US strike, as locals say no history of ISIS in area
Trump says it's about Christian genocide but like most things Trump "says" that seems to be mostly BS. Also, according to Trump, the attacks were on ISIL but the US calls any Muslim group it doesn't like ISIL or Al Qaeda or ISIS so that doesn't hold a lot of weight. Again Trump BS.
My first thought was it was about oil/gas. Nigeria is a big oil state and we seem to like making war on oil states right now, i.e. Venezuela but it looks like we bombed the northwest section of Nigeria, Jabo is mentioned in the Al Jazeera article and that is not really close to much oil/gas infrastructure though there are a few sites in the area.
My guess ...
It makes him, or someone in the administration feel strong, will go over well with the base, especially the Christian Nazis and most importantly ... will distract the media from the Epstein files.
Or ... maybe distract from economic issues and bad vibes. MAGA types get unusually happy when when we bomb brown people or non-christians.
Indiana's favorite Christian Nazi was happy about it.
Overall, I think it's a Wag the Dog distraction.
