The reason is that fiscal policy and debt are out of control, which puts growing pressure on the Fed to keep rates low.
Debt scolds blame everything on "The debt being out of control".
The recent troubles with The Dollar are the Trump regime's economic bullying antics.
When we are united with and leading the world, using our economic might against individual regimes is easy and The Dollar can hold value. Most countries see no reason to bet against it.
The Trump fanatics have used our economic might to bully anyone and everyone, no country is safe from his wrath.
So now every country is thinking that maybe we shouldn't give the US Dollar that much power. They should hedge their bets.
I see no going back. Even if/when Trump is gone, the trust has been lost.
