It's Time For Biden To Leave The Stage: The president's greatest legacy would be to make way for someone else in 2024.
I agree. Biden is too old, too feeble. He needs to go.
Trump is pretty beat-up right now and I don't think he really has a chance in the general election against anyone, but a couple of things could turn him into a winner and an old Joe Biden being his opponent is critical to both, a Biden health event or an economic slow-down.
A Biden health event late in the election cycle would be a disaster. Again, Biden is old and looks feeble as hell. It wouldn't take much of an event to turn already suspicious voters against him, another wandering-off episode, a fall, a Mitch McConnell like freeze-up or just something medical like a heart event or cancer scare.
Do you really want to risk another Trump term on the health of an 80+ Joe Biden?
The Ds need to get someone else in there before it becomes an issue.
Any economic event between now November 2024 is going to be blamed on Biden policies and would turn voters to Trump. Polls show a lot of voters, right or wrong, think the economy is not very good right now. Combine that with a coming rise in oil and gas prices, the Fed possibly hiking rates too far, or an unforeseen banking crisis and the economy could be front and center in voters minds around election time.
Abortion, Trump, and crazy Republicans need to be the focus in 2024 but it could still be ... "The economy, stupid".
Another D candidate could distance themselves from the Biden economic policies and maybe take away the economy talking point. Joe Biden can't.
So, get him out of there and get someone the young voters can get behind.
