Palin and Paul Revere

This is the best take on the Palin-Revere story I've seen.

The Rude Pundit

Yeah, yeah, Godzilla of Wasilla was busy this weekend, stomping on the Tokyo of Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum's futile presidential dreams. You've heard about her strange version of the Paul Revere story. You may have even heard when she told Fox "news" host Chris Wallace that it was in response to a "gotcha type of question," which is odd since the question she was responding to was "What have you seen so far today and what are you going to take away from your visit?"

The problem ain't the question. Palin could have answered, "We saw Paul Revere's house. What a great patriot." Done. No, the problem is that Sarah Palin can't shut the fuck up. Like a desperate college student who thinks that, if she keeps talking, the professor will just give her a "C" and let her pass, Palin treads water under the synapses in her brain fire off something like a sentence that includes some dreadful, devolved belief of hers. In this case, it was contorting the Paul Revere story into some kind of 2nd Amendment-related bullshit about arms.

The Rude Pundit is right. She would do much better if she'd just stop talking and follow the "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt" policy. [Abraham Lincoln]

Though she would probably twist this quote into something like,..."better to try and speak out about the fools that, that seek, the socialists that try and seek, to destroy this great, our great, nation while the real americans, the true great patroits, remain silent, but speak out only to save our great nation, the real americans, who built this great America, from the liberals that want to destroy it."

Palin

This is just wrong. [Bristol Palin - Teen pregnancy prevention Foundataion]

Bristol Palin was hired by a teen pregnancy prevention foundation. The foundation paid Bristol $262,000 while giving only $35,000 to actual teen pregnancy prevention work.

Another reason the Palins should go back to Alaska and leave the rest of us alone.

Michelle Bachmann

It Smells Like Wingnut in the Morning | The World According to MEH

I still think someone should market Bachmann and Palin bobble-heads. They'd sell like crazy. The wingnuts would buy them. Many of the "haters" would buy them. I don't think there could never be a better named product for advertising purposes,.. "Palin bobble head" or "Bachmann bobble head". It just doesn't get any better than that. They sound like a can't-miss items to me.

I just want a small part of the profits for the idea.

Sarah Palin - The Stupid Hurts 2

Sarah Palin Criticizes President Barack Obama on Egypt Saying 3 a.m. call Went to Answering Machine - ABC News

I doubt Sarah Palin could have found Egypt on a map a couple of years ago but now she's qualified to comment on Obama's handling of the revolt. How the fuck can that be?

Americans, especially the right-wing evangelical type, just kill me. They scream continually about the constitution, democracy, freedom, the will of the people, etc. but they go freakin' berserk as soon as a country even looks like it could elect a government with a different religion or vision. Hell, they could barely contain themselves with the results of our last election. Effectively throwing a two-year, Fox News/republican led hissy-fit because THEY didn't like the guy MOST people voted for.

Arizona Shootings - Palin

The Palin camp must have been scared initially. They took down the gunsite map, at least for a while. If they didn't think it was wrong, why did they take it down? Anyway, now that she's pretty sure he's not a teabagger, she's all fangs.

The surveyor symbol comment has to be one of the worst cover-your-ass-i-know-its-stupid-but-its-the-best-we've-got-right-now comments ever made by an american politician. I'd put it slightly worse than "I didn't inhale". Though in Palin's defense, I don't think she ever said it herself. It was from one of her minions.

Beck-Palin: Nutty as Hell.

From: Boing Boing

Crazy, yet they're given a national stage on the propaganda network to spew this crap. Someday the country will wake up, like a drunk after a hard and mostly forgotten night, feel ashamed and wonder,.... Why did we believe those idiots. I just hope no one gets hurt.

Palin-Korea

No More Mister Nice Blog on Palin on Korea

Palin realy is an idiot. She has the ability to cover up the fact that she doesn't know what she's talking about by stringing together enough words, fast enough, that no one can figure-out what the hell she's said.

She should be kept as far from the controls of this country as possible.

Israel vs Russia

Ok Sarah Palin and all you "We Stand By Israel" yard-sign owners. How do you feel about this.

Israel signs $400 million deal to sell spy drones to Russia - Haaretz Daily Newspaper Israel News

Palin and I think most of the yard-signers think Russia is one of the US's main enemies on the planet (Remember, Palin's "when putin rears his ugly head..." comment) BUT,... Palin and the yard-signers are also big-time Israeli supporters. So you idiots, now your favorite country is selling military equipment to one of your most evil enemies. What do you think about that!

Sarah Palin and Sharia Law

These two articles, actually a statment from Sarah Palin and a rebuttal from Juan Cole, show the difference between a dipshit pundit lying to promote a cause that doesn't know what they're talking about and someone who actually understand the subject at hand.

A Sarah Palin quote trying to scare the teabaggers into believing Sharia Law is coming to The US. Sarah Palin

Whether it be just affecting a segment of the population, a demographic, certainly not in its entirety all over our country, Americans will not stand for this because Americans are smart enough to know Sharia law, if that were to be adopted -- allowed to govern in our country, it will be the downfall of America. And too many Americans are onto this already and are starting to rise up and send that message to our federal officials and say, no, we will not put up with any hint of Sharia law being any sort of law of the land.

Ground Zero Mosque - Part 2

More questions for right wingers. these directed at The Dumb One.

From Billablog: Legitimate Questions for Sarah Palin

You believe in the US constitution, don't you? You believe in people's freedom to worship as they see fit? If so, what's the problem?

You believe in small government, right? You believe that big government should get out of people's lives, don't you? If so, then what business does the president have in telling anyone what they should build where?

You make an interesting point that having the right to do something doesn't mean you should. Would you extend the same principle to – oh, let's say – gun control as well? Or would that be an attack on freedom and a trashing of the constitution? How can you try to have it both ways?

And you believe in the free market don't you? So if you object to the owners' plans for the site, why not just outbid them? Why not let the market decide?

In short, how can you justify a position on this issue that contradicts your positions on just about everything else?

Comics - Right vs Left

A couple of my favorite political cartoonists

On the Left: David Horsey

On the Right: Attack Cartoons

I love David Horsey's images, like the MAD magazines I loved as a kid. I agree more with his political views at this stage of my life. Here's one of his "Palin" toons.

I think Attack Cartoons gets to the point as well or better than most cartoonists. He's pretty far to the right but damn,.. he gets his point across. His "Clinton Library and Massage Parlor" ranks high on my list of best things on the internet. Here's one of many.

The Power of Prayer

There was a state-wide, day-of-prayer to stop the gulf oil leak on Sunday, June 20th and somewhere around then, maybe Monday the 21st I think, Sarah Palin passed the call for prayer along to her goofy followers.

Call for Day of Prayer

Palin's Call For Prayer

Then just three days later on Wednesday, June 23, an under-sea robot bumps into the cap forcing its temporary removal allowing even more oil to be dumped into the gulf.

Cap Removed

That prayer stuff really helps, eh?

Bobble Heads

Someone should be selling a Sarah Palin-Michelle Bachman bobble-head set. They are naturals. The wing-nuts would eat-them-up. Hell, the dem's could probably finance the next election cycle with the proceeds.

Obama Death Panel

This kind of crap is why I’m no longer a republican,,......

Palin Paints Picture of 'Obama Death Panel' Giving Thumbs Down to Trig - Political Punch

There are only a few reasons Palin would mention "Obama's death panel". Either she's lying and she knows it, or she's shouting the party line and doesn't know any better, or she really believes it. In any event, she's an idiot and should be kept as far from real power as possible.

She could have brought up legitimate questions about health care or promoted other possible ideas. She could have helped move the process along but she didn't. She chose to follow what appears to be the Republican Party’s platform, to promote an obvious lie just to try to scare people into killing a process.

The republicans don't want to debate or discuss the merits of anything. They want it their way and if they can't have it they'll lie, cheat or steal to get it. How can I vote for a party that thinks I am stupid enough to believe that there will be an "Obama Death Panel" or internment camps or that Obama pal'd around with terrorists or is a Nazi, communist, socialist, marxist, muslim or whatever the slam-of-the-month is or that Obama is coming to get my guns, or Obama’s wasn’t born in the US? wtf.

Those are scare tactics. They may work for a while but if the people get really scared you’ll get this....

Fight at Florida town hall meeting

.... and that won't help at all.

I don't want to hear scare tactics. I want to hear good, legitimate debate about policy.

Uh-Merican

I wonder about the "American" group shown on this map (light yellow). Every American's ancestry, with a couple of exceptions, can be traced back to somewhere else. There should be no "American" group but its there. I wonder why?

Either the people in these areas don't know where their ancestors are from or don't care. I guess either is possible, people have lived in this area for generations and probably do see themselves as "Americans" but this would apply to the many other areas as well so it's not really a good answer. In reality we are all "American", only the people in these areas said their ancestors were "American"?

But,..... this "American" area corresponds roughly with the hard-core Fox-News, Sarah Palin, Red-State voter. could it be that when they "checked" the "ancestory-box" they thought to themselves, "Damn-it, I'm a real UH-Mericon!".
